Fleurieu Surf & Turf
Get a gentle dose of refreshment with a round of golf on a hidden-away Fleurieu course and a swim (or surf for the more active) at superb Middleton beach with lots of surprises along the way. Or just come for the surprises.
From your pick-up point with coffee in hand we head for Hahndorf to pick up our golf clubs then on to the beautiful 9 holes of the Ashbourne Private Golf Course. A Par 33 course of approx 2500 meters will give you delightful fairways and peaceful greens whilst you get that little exercise you have been wanting.
Lunch afterwards comes as a gourmet hamper picnic in the shade of trees and shelters at the Goolwa barrage. Here, Nic will explain the water flows and intricacies that make the Murray River mouth so fascinating as well as look for seals that make their home at the barrage.
After golf and lunch, we can head on down to the beach at nearby Midleton. For those who are up for a surf at the wide sandy Middleton beach, our surf instructor hosts will be waiting to get you into your wetsuit and out there on a wave(with a little tuition) to make sure you get to stand up and remember this stunning spot.
If surfing’s not your thing, you can just take a quick dip (or simply walk on the beach) then drive with us up to the Mill at Middleton that is home to Ulithorne Wines for coffee, cake and wine tasting.
Alternatively, we can explore the historic town of Goolwa, its Courthouse Gallery, Old Police Station and Historic Morgue as well as visit the wharf precinct and drive, then walk, to view the Murray Mouth as it enters the ocean.
After we return to collect our surfers, we drive on across the Fleurieu Peninsula to Strathalbyn with its old world charm and warm hospitality no matter what the weather. Walk High Street, Strathalbyns’ old quarter with quirky secondhand shops and the exquisitely maintained Soldiers Memorial Gardens. Then, it’s a serene 60 minute drive along the Angus Valley Tourist Drive (with a quick stop in at Longview Vineyard near Macclesfield for a late afternoon taste). We’ll return you to your accommodation around 5.00 p.m. With the day’s activity you have exerted, you’ll be forgiven for falling asleep in the car on the way!Book now Make an enquiry Back
